JOB SUMMARY

This position is for a Project Manager in S&C's Power System Solutions' (PSS) Project Management Organization (PMO). This position requires prior experience in the electric power industry. The Project Manager is responsible for planning and executing large scale PSS service projects in accordance with customer requirements and business objectives. Project types include but are not limited to factory acceptance testing, engineering, cybersecurity, field service, distributed automation system deployment, and equipment retrofit projects. The Project Manager will lead, direct, and coordinate the efforts of the project team. The position includes the following:

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Perform order setup by working with Project Coordinators in the PMO. Document project requirements.
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets. Prepare financial forecasts.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, and cost with no supervision.
  • Oversee the preparation of design and work specifications.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams. Manage the project team to ensure work is performed per contract and company requirements. Secure project staff and resources.
  • Monitor and control project financials with regular reports to leadership.
  • Manage and ensure adherence to safety, quality, and testing standards.
  • Manage project communications and stakeholders.
  • Perform risk management.
  • Develop and maintain customer relationships.
  • Identify new project opportunities. Assist the proposal development team on new opportunities.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Other duties as required.
  • The person for this position must be a motivated team player, detail oriented, and one who enjoys undertaking challenging projects in the electric power industry.

To select this job as one of interest to you, at a minimum, you must have the following:

  • BS/BA degree: project management, engineering, or technology.
  • 4 years of project management/supervision experience in the electric power industry.
  • PMP Certification or MPM.
  • Ability to travel 15% within the US based on departmental requirements.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to influence project stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong technical knowledge of medium/high voltage electrical systems and equipment design.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Strong change management skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite tools including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and MS Project. Prior experience with Oracle is preferred.

Relevant Experience Required:

  • The position requires experience in the electric power industry. Candidates should have prior experience successfully planning and executing projects associated medium/high voltage utility-scale electrical equipment and services. Prior experience working for an electrical equipment manufacturer is preferred.

MAJOR PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Handling: Frequent use of a computer keyboard and mouse.
  • Environment: Work performed in a regular office environment within a manufacturing facility. Occasionally, projects will require on site work at utility substations, utility transmission or distribution systems, C&I facilities, and/or government facilities.
