This team will expand business outside of traditional channels, you'll lead product development activities and serve as the main technical point of contact. responsibilities:
The Systems Engineer will develop products that contain a high degree of system complexity. The person will lead cross-functional engineering teams and interface directly with JDM and technology partners to ensure the product is designed and engineered to meet customer requirements, direct cost targets, and safety/regulatory requirements. The candidate must have experience in consumer product development and/or medical device development.
You will oversee execution of product development engineering plans. In conjunction with program management, you'll also coordinate work streams across internal and external engineering teams, joint development partners, and contract manufacturers. You'll proactively identify engineering issues/risks and drive resolution by coordinating engineering teams, product architects, and product management. You'll assess and establish feasibility of plans by working with senior engineers. And you'll support the risk management process and ensure mitigation requirements and activities are complete, documented, and traceable. Engineering requirements:
Proven ability to run a highly technical team of multi-disciplinary engineers
Proven track record of systems engineering for complex electronics devices
Experience with audio product engineering and manufacturing
Technical problem-solving skills that combine evidence with intuition
Ability to ensure engineering deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and within product-cost targets
Ability to ensure engineering deliverables are defined with clear completion criteria that meet all Bose, regulatory, and certification requirements
Ability to lead partners in direct cost estimation for early concepts
Ability to ensure the development process and supporting documentation follows Bose and Partner requirements
Experience supporting creation of Statements of Work for JDM partners, outlining engineering roles and responsibilities
Experience tracking progress of engineering effort, direct cost, and design maturity against established criteria
Experience coordinating program activities between industrial design, user experience, engineering, design assurance, quality, regulatory, reliability, testing, and documentation
Familiarity with design controls, documentation controls, design verification and validation, hazard analysis and risk management techniques, and regulatory approvals
Familiarity with software development practices, analog and digital electronics, acoustics, RF and signal processing, and modern manufacturing techniques
