What We Need
Maisonette depends on its accounting team to produce quality financial reporting to guide decision making and measure performance. Our accounting manager will play an integral role to ensure our accounting processes are effective and efficient and our financial reporting is reliable and accurate. This is a highly visible role that will interface with our internal operations teams, external vendors and third-party service providers. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, excited to build and implement new processes as well as develop existing processes, and a very strong, professional communicator.

What You'll Do
Reporting to our Controller, we are looking for an accounting manager to join our growing finance team to help us develop and scale our procurement and inventory processes. By optimizing our systems and applications and focusing on efficiencies, this person will ensure our network of vendors are paid completely, accurately and timely. They will also be relied upon to build out a controlled inventory process from purchase order approval to receipt of inventory.
Coordinate with and support our business operations team to onboard, pay and service our network of vendors, investigate issues as they arise and track through resolution
Implement improvements and design controls to create a scalable payment process that will support Maisonette’s planned growth and business strategy
Provide guidance and mentorship to our accounting team staff and perform detailed review over their data entry of vendors, bills, and credits
Coordinate with the business development and logistics teams to build-out a more controlled inventory process, which will include tracking purchase orders and payments to inventory vendors, performing a three-way match of PO, receipt & invoice, calculating and recording COGS, and reconciling inventory balances from our warehouse to our GL.
Partner with the FP&A function to perform analytics, budget preparation and other ad-hoc analysis
Assist with the preparation, management and fulfillment of year-end audit requests
Assume significant responsibility around month-end closing activities, specifically accruals and reconciliations, and help prepare monthly/quarterly reporting packages & annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Partake in ad-hoc team projects and analysis, as Maisonette focuses on creating scalable accounting and finance processes to support growth
About You
Critical thinker with the ability to problem solve and improve complex processes
Very strong organizational skills and acute attention to detail
Excellent communication skills; proven ability to communicate effectively with internal and external business partners at various levels
Experience with, or willingness to learn quickly, Netsuite, Airbase, Looker, etc.
Experience with month-end financial close and deliverables that can support the annual audit
Proactive self-starter who enjoys a fast-paced environment and an ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet pressing deadlines
Tech savvy and MS Excel super user; must be comfortable working with and analyzing large datasets and comfortable with creating end to end automation of business processes
Must love accounting and want a career path in accounting
Necessary Background
- Bachelor’s Degree or Higher in Accounting or Finance
Active CPA or CPA eligible strongly preferred
4-6 years of relevant Accounting experience; Public Accounting experience highly preferred
Experience with financial reporting and process improvement
Solid understanding of the application of accounting principles and standards and experience with Procure to Pay and Inventory accounting processes
