Job Description


Performance Contracting is seeking a Branch Safety Engineer for our Indianapolis Interior operations based in Carmel, IN. 


 


This position is based in the Indianapolis metro-area but requires the ability to travel to job sites throughout the state of Indiana and to job sites in the Midwest/Southeast. In the future, it may be required to relocate to specific projects in those areas for periods of time. Performance Contracting provides a company car allowance, relocation reimbursement, temporary housing and per diem for these assignments. Relocation for specific projects would also include weekend return travel to Indianapolis every two weeks.   


 


 


This position is responsible for the following duties:



  • Assist the branch with implementing and administering the PCG and client accident prevention plans, policies, and procedures.

  • Ensure that the company and client safety reports, statistics and documentation are submitted in a timely manner.

  • Provide safety technical expertise and support to the branch.

  • Promote safety and safe work practices.

  • Assist in the investigation of work-related injuries, illnesses, and near-miss incidents.

  • Enforce corrective action to prevent the recurrence of hazardous conditions or behaviors.

  • Practice timely and accurate accident reporting.

  • Review all accidents and investigation reports.

  • Act as liaison between the company and client as it relates to site safety management.

  • Assist in identifying, correcting, and mitigating routine and non-routine safety and health hazards.

  • Council and coach workers to gain compliance with the accident prevention plans, policies and procedures.

  • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential safety health hazards.

  • Conduct job site inspections and periodic audits to establish and evaluate the level of compliance.

  • Establish branch and project safety goals.

  • Evaluate and approve safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE).

  • Provide comprehensive monthly reports to Corporate Regional Safety Manager.


Requirements


Basic Requirements:



  • At least 3 years experience implementing safety on active construction sites is required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Construction Science or related discipline, or comparable work experience is required.

  • OSHA certification is required.

  • The ability to travel is required.


Minimum Requirements:



  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Ability to learn new job skills by engaging in the technical aspects of the job and applying new skills as they are taught.

  • Customer service skills, such as able to work with customers and build strong relationships.

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to multitask.


Preferred Requirements:



  • OSHA 500/510 is a plus.

  • CHST or other BCSP credentials is a plus.
