About the job:
American Red Cross is looking for talented industry professional, who is skilled in data stewardship who can promote the data governance strategy and the related stewardship framework, specifically using Informatica's Axon & Enterprise Data Catalog.
This position will work independently and closely with the Sr. Director for Enterprise Data Governance to enable data stewardship & program execution.
The work location for this exciting opportunity is virtual. The selected candidate will work 100% remotely from home and can be located anywhere in the United States working east coast hours (8/9am EST start time)
What you will be doing:
Partner with the head of data governance to create strategic roadmap and shape the
stewardship framework and program execution.
Lead the development of a robust data catalog to ensure domain and data discovery. (We currently use Informatica)
Hands on with design, build and onboarding various Axon facets (datasets, glossary, policy, workflows, dashboard, segmentation, legal entities etc.)
Defining and implementing policies and procedures for the management of data governance (can include platforms and analytical reports).
Support and extend the data governance framework to various Lines of Business.
Scope: Individual contributor that works under limited supervision. Apply subject matter knowledge. Capacity to understand specific needs or requirements to apply skills/knowledge.
Qualified candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. The American Red Cross does not sponsor employment visas.
What we need from you:
At least 3+ years of experience in Data Governance and Data Stewardship
2-3 years of experience working with Informatica' s Enterprise Data Catalog (EDC) and Axon Data Governance strongly needed.
Highly organized, responsive, resourceful and motivated
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
Proven ability to work across business units, technical and enterprise teams.
Ability to self-manage along multiple tracks of work and drive towards consistent, high-quality results.
Experience with Data Governance concepts, framework, and platforms
Previous experience with Data Stewardship
Education:
Bachelor's degree required.

Essential Functions/Physical Requirements: Depending on work assignment, may require ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; or the ability to stand, walk and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of up to 20 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read technical information. Overall mobility is essential. May include sitting for long periods of time, driving a vehicle and working under challenging conditions.
Work Conditions: Work is performed indoors with some potential for exposure to safety and health hazards related to emergency services relief work. May travel and participate in meetings and conferences throughout chapter jurisdiction, state and Red Cross system. Because the Red Cross is a disaster response organization, staff may be asked to be on 24-hour call during period of major disaster.
