Data Engineer (Remote)
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supporting the on-going development and expansion of the data warehouse infrastructure required to ensure data quality
- Extracting, transforming, and loading data from the Enterprise Data Lake into the cloud Data warehouse (Redshift, Snowflake)
- Developing and expanding automated data ingestion processes with an emphasis on data quality and scalability, including exception-based reporting that delivers proactive monitoring and trend-based alerting
- Collaborating with subject matter experts and functional leaders to define and execute on data and reporting requirements
- Maintaining awareness of the rapidly changing technology environment and how new technologies can positively impact the company
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 5+ years of experience with design, implementation, management, and maintenance of data pipelines for data warehouse solutions (i.e.: Amazon Redshift, Snowflake, etc.).
- Strong SQL and Unix skills experience working with modern ETL/ELT frameworks.
- Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery preferred.
- Experience with AWS technologies stack including S3, Redshift, Glue, Athena, or similar solutions preferred.
- Data Pipeline development experience leveraging industry standard tools like Git and Jira required.
- Strong programming skills and data integration experience Python (or any scripting).
- Experience dealing with processing and loading unstructured data (e.g., json, parquet etc.).
- Knowledge of data warehouse best practices such as conforming dimensions, slowly changing dimensions, star and snowflake schema required.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot data integrity and reporting issues resulting in effective business solutions.
- Healthcare experience including knowledge of HIPAA and PHI requirements preferred.
- Must be high energy, eager to learn, self-motivated, detail oriented, and able to work both independently and with cross-functional teams in a rapidly changing, high growth environment.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Management Systems, Software Engineering, or related discipline
