A Bit About Us

Digital assets are eating the world. We've already seen the meteoric rise of fungible digital assets as currency (e.g., bitcoin, stablecoins) and financial instruments (DeFi). Also known as non-fungible tokens, NFT's are a unit of data stored in blockchain technology and they are changing our world by how we communicate and transmit information. The current market for non-fungible digital assets (NFTs) is a mere precursor to the opportunity that NFT technology holds. Real estate, gaming, ticketing, carbon offsets, art, RECs, music, media, and other industries all stand to benefit from tokenization (put differently immutable digital representation) and the market efficiency it enables. However, a trusted source of aggregated financial information and services for NFTs does not exist despite a strong and rapidly growing demand for it.

This startup is building a data aggregator platform creating insights focused on NFTs (think Bloomberg Terminal). They are well-funded, backed by a billion-dollar Web3 VC firm. Their founding members have previously founded or been on the founding team of an NFT multi-unicorn, a DeFi decacorn, a highly successful prop trading firm, and more. They are looking for the best of the best to join our already-stacked team and absolutely awesome culture. If you're getting fired up, please read on!

Job Details

In this role, you'll be defining, designing, and implementing new features on our open- and closed-source infrastructure for ingesting and processing blockchain data, quant signals, orderbook data, and other data. You won't be alone - but will be working with our seasoned software, quant, & data engineering team. Their team is still small, meaning you'll be able to have huge impact on the overall direction and shape the future for users and ourselves. This also means this isn't your traditional software or data engineering role. You'll be expected to widen your horizon, from understanding user needs, technical limitations, and company strategy...it's a complex task.

The central challenges here are fault-tolerant low-latency real time data streaming, synchronizing multimodal data from different sources, and architecting new data standards. Some of our stack includes Golang, Python, GraphQL, Elixir, Python, TimescaleDB, and Kafka.

What we're looking for is a strong, collaborative software-first data engineer who can easily interface with our Design, Frontend, ML/Quant, and Product teams with a product-minded focus. We're looking for the following key traits for our next team members

  • You can ship. You should be effectively be able to support the shipping culture - meaning you have diverse skillsets from generating wild ideas to bringing those - once agreed upon - to production ready designs.
  • System thinking. What we're building is quite complex - and elements connect to each other in unexpected ways. Being able to see the full picture, while drilling down into details is a must. We have a designer focused on the design system and we are eager to contribute to this.
  • Curiosity & Always learning. You're interested in new trends in your domain. You see keeping up-to-date with the latest platform standards and recommendations as a core part of your job.
  • Collaborative. We ship as a team - and great ideas & solutions come from every member of this team. You're honest with both giving and taking feedback - and take pride in delivering the best possible solution versus being emotionally attached to a single idea.
