For this position, you will become an energy Rōnin, or as it is referred to more technically: a Renewable Energy Specialist. You will develop expertise in the core consumer-grade renewable energy technologies, learn to deeply understand the needs and practical considerations of both residential and commercial clients, and refine your communication abilities to more effectively match customers in need with the best solutions to their problems.
You will have more freedom, more responsibility, more room for personal and professional growth, and a higher earning potential than in most any other professional context. However, this means that success as an energy Rōnin depends greatly on your own desire to develop as a professional, as a person, and as an upstanding member of society.
Your responsibilities:
- Become thoroughly educated in the technical, practical, and economic aspects of common renewable energy solutions, including: solar arrays, battery backup systems, wind turbines, and geothermal systems
- Utilize a variety of canvassing and outbound sales techniques to identify potential residential and commercial customers for renewable energy solutions
- Work in concert with team members, contributing creative ideas and providing written drafts and business strategy documents as needed
- Attend regular team meetings and trainings, and also meetups as able
- Stay abreast of social media trends and technology news related to renewable energy
- Remain willing and excited to grow rapidly and to create more responsibilities for yourself to ensure the best possible end product and the fastest rate of renewable energy adoption
Your qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Previous sales, marketing, and business development experience valued but not required
- Proficiency with major social media platforms
- A growth mindset and a keen interest in learning and transcending your previous capabilities
- Time management skills
- Attention to detail
- Strong moral character
- A belief in the importance of helping others and of sustainability initiatives
- Open-mindedness and a willingness to listen and learn from others
This position will begin as a part-time, 1099 contract, remote role, with only weekly productivity goals. If the position seems to be a good fit, then it will develop into a full-time, in-person role in Austin, Texas.
Rōnin Energy is an early stage start-up, so the pay structure for this position will be 100% commission-based, with profit-sharing taking place at future milestones for the company.
The commission pay structure and profit-sharing terms will be described in detail during the interview process and presented in writing to you for your final review before accepting any positions offered.
To be clear, if you mostly want a steady job with immediate, predictable pay, and a cozy cubicle to report to, then this is not the job for you.
