JOB DESCRIPTION


This position can be fully remote but candidates who are located in or near the Charlotte, NC area where a primary manufacturing facility and the hiring manager is located are strongly preferred.


SUMMARY


The Talent Acquisition Manager is integral in supporting the strategic staffing needs of the Gearing Division and its U.S. manufacturing businesses (Boston Gear, TB Wood’s, Kilian, and Nuttall Delroyd Gear). The role will act as a trusted advisor to Division leadership, local HR, and business leaders/hiring managers, with primary responsibility for providing talent acquisition expertise and marketing and sourcing strategies that identify, attract, and secure top talent for a diverse range of positions in multiple geographic markets. The incumbent will lead with industry best practices, drive continuous improvement, and measure key recruitment and talent acquisition activities.



The position will have a matrix relationship with Corporate Talent, will work closely with Gearing business leaders to understand hiring needs, and will heavily influence local HR team members who have responsibility for recruitment at their site(s).



The role is heavily program management but will still include active involvement with sourcing, recruiting and/or interviewing in support of staffing needs at the Division and site levels.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • As the subject matter expert, provide consultative guidance to Division leadership and local HR/business leaders/hiring managers on talent acquisition/recruitment initiatives and best practices.

  • Support recruiting efforts for the Division by searching for passive candidates and developing a candidate pipeline using technology-based and other sourcing techniques.

  • Proactively develop diverse pipelines of talent through networking, sourcing, marketing and relationship building. Design and develop sourcing efforts that ensure diverse candidates are included in the applicant funnels for Gearing businesses.

  • Assist and support local HR with creating unique, robust, and alternative sourcing strategies

  • Collaborate with and support local HR with developing and implementing sustainable branding strategies that promotes their business in the community and increases applicant interest through a variety of marketing and advertising mediums, including social media platforms, college/university relations, local and state-wide community outreach and networks, and other outlets.

  • Gather market intelligence and analysis by geographic location and/or type of talent. Educate local HR, hiring managers and key stakeholders on market dynamics, industry trends and how they can effectively adapt recruiting processes.

  • Assess existing processes and implement improvements that ensure a streamlined, high-touch candidate experience and a positive encounter with Altra regardless of the outcome.

  • Create, track and analyze key metrics and performance indicators and design/recommend countermeasures that drive improvements and achieve best practices for the full cycle recruiting process.

  • Monitor the applicant tracking system for Gearing requisitions to ensure compliance throughout the recruiting cycle related to posting, approval workflows, recruiter activity, and timely applicant disposition and progression.

  • During periods of increased volume, assist local HR with full-cycle recruitment for positions at the various manufacturing facilities.

  • Comply with Corporate Talent Acquisition processes, policies, and tools, including maintaining and regularly updating the Recruiter Outreach Contact and Activity log

  • Avoid legal challenges by understanding current legislation and enforcing regulatory compliance with hiring managers, recommending procedural changes, and facilitating interview training.

  • Capable of developing talent acquisition strategies and processes that enable the Division and individual businesses to achieve strategic objectives and KPIs and deliver client driven solutions.

  • Demonstrated knowledge/experience using job boards, social media, direct sourcing, state and local community networks, referral programs, etc.

  • Skilled at judging talent; capable of identifying and articulating strengths and limitations of candidates.

  • Consultative skills that include advising and influencing HR peers and business leaders. Ability to partner with HR leaders and hiring managers to execute on talent acquisition needs on a tactical and strategic level.

  • Proficient with behavioral based interviewing techniques, personality and technical assessments, and other innovative selection methods.

  • Strong interviewing skills with attention to detail screening candidates for technical and soft skills

  • Sense of urgency and ability to work in fast-paced, ever-changing environment

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal, written, presentation, and listening) skills

  • Ability to influence at all levels build strong productive relationships

  • Demonstrates initiative and ability to work independently while understanding when to escalate issues


JOB REQUIREMENTS


Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources or related discipline is required.

  • 5+ years of progressive talent acquisition experience with a focus on candidate generation in a complex and competitive market is required.

  • Proven success with sourcing for passive talent, including niche candidate and multi-touch outreach.

  • Experience with full-cycle recruiting for hourly and salaried roles is required. Experience within a manufacturing industry or environment is strongly preferred.

  • Proven track record implementing full lifecycle recruiting strategies to attract and hire top talent is required.

  • Experience using applicant tracking systems (ATS) is required. (CareerBuilder’s Talent Stream is beneficial).

  • Strong knowledge of Affirmative Action, Equal Employment Opportunity, and OFCCP regulations is required.

  • Experience with employer branding and social media platforms, job boards, etc. is strongly desired

  • Experience with Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion focused recruiting and initiatives is strongly desired.

  • Ability to travel up to 20% to domestic locations.


Work Environment:


The position is office based and 100% remote but will include occasional travel to the production facilities where time would be spent in a manufacturing environment. Some (but not all) areas are climate-controlled. Personal protective safety equipment must be worn, and proper safety precautions must be observed. Potential exposure may include, but is not limited to: solvents, dusts, lead, fiberglass, noise, heat, cold.
