Staff Accountant II - Area Stock Yards (Hybrid: Onsite and Remote Work)

Provide support to the area and region finance leadership in the completion of the period end close through journal entry, balance sheet reconciliations and analysis in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and consideration of proper SOX controls. As well provide support to the finance and operation team leaders in the area in the preparation of the mid-month forecast.This position is segmented as "Blended/Hybrid" meaning there is a combination of onsite and remote work. This position is eligible to sit in our Tempe, AZ, Phoenix, AZ, or Tucson, AZ Stock Yard facilities.Responsibilities:Prepares month-end journal entries and assigned balance sheet reconciliationsCompletes general ledger and subledger account analysisPrepares and assist with review of financial statements as part of close processProvide reports as required for customers and vendor analysis Compile and provide audit support as requested by internal and external auditors.Develop end-to-end process and business knowledge of assigned areaSkilled at demonstrating the values and behaviors of the Company Cultural BeliefsAssist with research of inventory costing issues and analysis to ensure proper cost accountingProvides annual budget and monthly forecast support and analysis for accurate projection of resultsResponds timely to requests for information/reports from auditors, regional or corporate associatesCompletes special projects and analysis as requested by SY and Corporate finance leadershipEducation/Training: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field required.Related Experience: Must possess a minimum of two years in general accounting; cost accounting experience preferred.
