Summary: The Director of Program Operations supports and embodies the mission, vision and core values of The Women’s Home. Operating out of the Spring Branch Division and Reporting to the Chief Community Builder, the DPO will be responsible for all aspects of program operations, planning and delivery. This includes team management, staff development, program delivery, location management, administrative oversight and management of programs and new program development. This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate looking to grow professionally or for someone looking to bring their expertise to a growing community development division.

Position Responsibilities:

Program Quality

  • Oversees Spring Branch staff and ensure that:

  • They are prepared to run effective programs

  • They have planning and debrief practices that include documentation for improvement

  • Provides ongoing, direct and clear feedback with Spring Branch staff and Chief Community Builder

  • Hires appropriately to ensure all programs are staffed with quality personnel

Program Creation, Facilitation & Evaluation

  • Manages program site logistics and relationships

  • Oversees infrastructure development

  • Manages stewardship of property

  • Organizes the ordering of supplies and program materials

  • Facilitates necessary permitting

  • Contributes to and encourages proposing, creating, growing and evaluating programs, services and initiatives.

  • Ensures that Spring Branch Staff are facilitating and building programs and services

  • Holds responsibility for quality control of programs

  • Seasonal evaluation of programs using established metrics and practices, and tracks program interest/feedback from the community, program participants and partners

  • Creates/develops and staffs custom programs/training as they arise, with cost estimates & staffing requirements

  • Ongoing communication with Chief Community Builder, fellow leadership team and staff

Management, Training & Hiring

  • Hires, manages and terminates staff in the Spring Branch Division

  • Follows regular schedule of staff evaluation and feedback

  • Mentors instructors, interns and other staff in deepening their conscious competence while working with partners and community stakeholders.

  • In collaborates with Chief Community Builder help facilitate the development and execution of training program staff in leadership and identified skills to uphold program quality and professional development

  • Practices conscious leadership & role modeling with Spring Branch Staff

  • Provides ongoing, regular support, as well as direct feedback & proactive guidance to Spring Branch Staff

  • Attends regular leadership, staff and community meetings (as requested)

Safety & Risk

  • Ensures all Spring Branch division staff understand, always practice & uphold safety protocols

  • Manages job hazard analysis and risk management protocols in conjunction with maintenance staff

  • Creates, maintains and updates all emergency procedures

  • Holds responsibility to be the ultimate emergency response person

  • Oversees transportation where needed and bus maintenance records/needs

Marketing & Stewardship

  • Works with admin staff to create relevant, informative and accurate content for enrollment marketing

  • Works with fundraising team and Chief Community Builder to identify ways to drive revenue through community programs and services

  • Manages community and stakeholder visit, tours, and rentals at the Mabee Whole Life Service Center

Qualifications:

  • An outgoing, creative & caring personality with a strong desire to grow professionally and personally

  • Minimum 5 years managing people

  • Ability to collaborate and engage with diverse community stakeholders and partners

  • Previous experience in community development, early education, and community programs

  • Excellent interpersonal & intrapersonal skills, with the ability to fearlessly communicate with youth & adult program participants, parents, staff and community

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Computer literacy including productive internet research, survey design, Google Docs, Social Media and basic MS Office Suite

  • Actively certified First Aid & CPR (or willingness to become certified)

  • Valid Driver’s license, clean driving record and reliable transportation for travel as part of regular work.

Preferred Experience & Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, related field or teaching certificate a plus

  • Experience facilitating mentor model

  • Experience in program design, marketing & evaluation

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in community center operations

  • Positive history of mentoring & building long term relationship with students, program participants, parents & staff
