We are looking for a Lead Cloud Solutions Architect for Data Center and Cloud Modernization Services. They will lead the service delivery on a program that operates, maintains, and modernizes data center/cloud infrastructure and platforms for a federal government customer.
The Lead Cloud Solutions Architect will focus on all aspects of design, analysis, implementation and support of systems, software or other solutions pertaining to deploying capabilities to cloud systems. The candidate will work within a team of software cloud and IT engineers to build high performance, cloud-based data ingest and research services focused on public health data sources. The ideal candidate projects high energy possesses a passion for state-of-the-art technology, and speaks comfortably from a technical perspective with clients, partners, and across the team.
The scope of responsibilities includes data center and cloud modernization strategy, managed services, process streamlining for data center operations, application team deployments, and cloud service provisioning. Serves as the lead cloud Subject Matter Expert (SME) for implementing and overseeing cloud computing strategy. This includes cloud adoption plans, cloud application design, and cloud management and monitoring. Oversee application architecture requirements and deployment in cloud environments.
The functional responsibilities will be to serve as the Lead Cloud Solution Architect on an enterprise data center and cloud operations and modernization contract responsible for organizing, directing, and managing multiple complex and inter-related transitional projects that often require managing teams of contractor personnel at multiple locations.
In This Role, A Typical Day Will Include:

• Lead a team of DevOps/SecOps Engineers to architect cloud-based solutions with the responsibility to ensure the customer maintains an overall cohesive integration with itself, partner systems, and solutions
• Support and advise on application assessment, migration, and modernization
• Provide machine-learning capabilities to monitor spikes, drops in usage, as well as lead discussions similar to well architected reviews
• Provide recommendations to optimize Cloud usage costs by analyzing usage patterns and trends while providing recommendations for consolidating instance types based on demand across all billing accounts
• Create assessments that include cloud deployment type (public/hybrid), cloud tier (AWS, Azure, and Google), OS, COTS, codebase, database, cloud services, application dependencies, disaster resilience requirements
• Design cloud infrastructure, virtual private cloud, virtual private network, relational database services, auto scaling, and computing resources to meet customers' requirements
• Maintain an understanding of advancing cloud capabilities, IT, and business needs, while identifying and proposing cost and functional efficiency options for the customer's collaborative decisions and actions
• Create and maintain a roadmap of customer enhancements according to the customer's decisions and directions
• Deliver end-to-end cloud architecture solutions
• Provide expertise in high availability, contingency planning, and automated provisioning.
• Collaborate with enterprise architecture team and other stakeholders to determine enterprise tools, technologies, and processes.
• Support the development of open architectures and applications, infrastructure, and cloud platforms to ensure they are best suited for Cloud deployment and consumption.
• Drives the organization towards Cloud best practices and supporting technologies to enable such capabilities as DevSecOps, Big Data/Analytics, AI, Cloud scalability, and Micro-Services.
• Architect, design, develop, troubleshoot, and implement cloud solutions across a hybrid cloud platform
• Strong understanding of the CI/CD pipeline including implementation of Infrastructure as Code.
• Work closely with the Information Technology Security team to ensure the applications and solutions designed and deployed are secure and compliant.
• Effectively Interface with Customer personnel at varying organizational levels

What You'll Need:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline
• This position requires a minimum of 15 years progressive experience in working within a DevSecOps/DevOps environment, utilizing cloud services, solutions, and provisioning/automating infrastructure, services and tools
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and demonstrated experience working with senior level stakeholders and development teams
• Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing to convey cloud technologies and solutions to all levels of customer personnel
• Expertise in developing, maintaining, and contributing to technical and process documentation.
• Must have or be able to obtain a security clearance
• Experience managing/implementing server/clients with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) Platforms and Federation Services
• Experience using a source code repository such as BitBucket, Mercurial, GIT, or Subversion
• Experience with Agile development methodologies
• Certified Solutions Architect Associate certification from one of the major Cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google)
• Must hold one or more of the following: Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), CompTIA Cloud+, MS Azure, AWS, GCP, Oracle Cloud certifications
• VCP, CCNA, CISSP preferred
