THE ROLE
Under the direction of the Chief Philanthropy Officer, the Senior Director of Philanthropy (SDP) is a member of the Foundation leadership team. The SDP is responsible for the planning, execution, and evaluation of a comprehensive campaign which is expected to be in the $250 million range. In addition, the SDP will be a working member of the Foundation’s team of principal gift, major gift, and planned giving team. The SDP will manage at least one major service line assignment with the requisite physician relationships, along with a substantial prospect portfolio targeting six-, seven-, and eight-figure gifts
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Plan, manage, and evaluate a comprehensive fund-raising campaign.
Secure financial support by managing a portfolio of major gift prospects through the process of identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.
Identify and establish relationships with key stakeholders (physicians, grateful patients, volunteers and hospital administrators) in an effort to help identify and engage new
prospects, develop strategy and steward existing donors.
Actively participate on the Foundation’s senior leadership team and collaborate with other Foundation colleagues in annual giving, events, the regional shared services office, and donor relations to increase Foundation revenue and capacity.
Document required prospect interaction in donor database.
Represent Foundation in a positive and professional manner at internal and external meetings, events and activities.
Other duties as requested.
IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS
Required experience/education for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree
Ten (10) years of progressive and proven experience as a major gifts officer successfully raising six (6)- and seven (7)-figure gifts; significant leadership experience in the planning and conduct of at least one major campaign in the nine-figure range; and demonstrated experience in the inspiration and motivation of teams around a shared initiative
Demonstrated the ability to meet the needs of the specific population served
Demonstrated the ability to perform behavioral competencies as indicated on the position specific competency assessment.
