Description:This opportunity is within the F-35 Chief Engineer's organization; the position fulfills an International Chief Engineer role for an F-35 international country/customer(s).
The International Chief Engineer is the technical focal point for the air system and will provide technical integration and assure technical integrity of the Air System. The International Chief Engineer will be the primary contractor technical interface for the customer, including the JPO International Representative Class Desk, and International Delegated Airworthiness Authorities. The International Chief Engineer will coordinate with the Chief Engineer's Office, other Variant Chief Engineers and the TAE's to ensure optimal commonality and practical design solutions. The International Chief Engineer will be responsible for ensuring specifications are met, risk is managed, and processes are followed and will work closely with Systems Engineering Team in the execution of these disciplines.
The International Chief Engineer will participate in technical boards and will be the technical program representative or technical chair for country unique requirements/additions/capabilities.
The International Chief Engineer will ensure technical integrity of the producing FACO for the respective international country.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline
Previous Aeronautics Experience
Experience with systems engineering process
Candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance
Applicant must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time
Desired Skills:
Advanced Engineering Degree
Previous Chief Engineering experience
Experience with F-35, F-22, or F-16 platforms.
Strong interpersonal skills and working with multiple levels of customer
Experience with configuration management and control
Experience with determination of compliance to contractual requirements
Experience with technical integrity and system safety / hazard risk analysis
Significant knowledge of F-35 variant configurations, customers and contracts
Technical leadership experience in a complex development program with multiple international customers
