Job Purpose

As a Senior UX Designer, you will join our growing Design and UX team within the Masonite Innovation Center. The primary focus for this new and exciting role within Masonite is to conduct in-depth research, utilizing the design thinking process and other established UX research methodologies, to drive the formulation of ideal customer-centric experiences in relation to interaction with physical products, UI interaction and navigation and service design. At Masonite, we view UX from a broad and holistic point of view, crafting exceptional experiences for every actor and touchpoint throughout the journey of a product/UI/service. The Senior UX Designer, will be expected to lead, inspire and influence design and cross-functional teams in support of both product innovation and development programs.

Main Responsibilities And Accountabilities

• Lead and support UX programs, including front-end innovation sessions and development programs.
• Translate requirements into storyboards, user flows, wireframes, and visual design mockups to effectively conceptualize and communicate detailed interaction behaviors
• Advocate for yours and the teams design solutions by consistently putting them in the context of business and end-user goals
• Participate in and /or lead project meetings and support program deliverables
• Participate in and/or lead user research, usability tests and other evaluation activities utilizing various design thinking methodologies to uncover insights, define user personas and map user journeys.
• Solve complex design problems for both physical products and Software in simple and intuitive ways
• Work closely and constructively with product managers, marketing, design/UX team members, engineers and other team members to deliver outstanding user experiences.
• Help the team interpret and understand user feedback and provide recommendations to design decisions based on that feedback.
• Own and maintain requirements and design documentation.

Education

• Possess a bachelor s degree or higher from an accredited university in one or more of the following: Industrial Design, Product Design, Human-Machine Interface, Engineering, Human Factors, Anthropology, Psychology.

Experience

• 6-10 years leading complex UX and design programs
• Experience working in a collaborative team environment to deliver high-quality design solutions
• Must demonstrate past work experience and deliverables leading programs, utilizing Design Thinking methodologies in solving complex problems, and facilitating cross functional workshops.
• Must demonstrate influencing consumer journeys with clear recommendations and improvements that have resulted in implementation of

Competencies

• Experience within user-centered design, UX methods, UI/UX design, or human subjects research & experimental design
• Experience with visual design and collaboration tools such Adobe Suite, Miro
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent reasoning skills and the ability to back up your recommendations
