Associate directors are a key part of the digital strategy leadership team, for leading both other strategists and client teams. Associate directors own our clients’ most interesting digital challenges and opportunities, and they take charge of aligning internal teams around effective ways to take advantage of those challenges and opportunities.



At TRG, digital strategists are connectors. Our work requires collaboration with many other disciplines: creative, media, technology, client leadership, and content studios. You’ll work with, learn from, and show your stuff to a broad group of people across the agency.



What You’ll Be Doing




  • Provide stewardship for the digital creative ecosystem: Develop communications strategies that meet business, marketing, and creative goals; provide guidance on key digital investments needed to take advantage of the changing digital landscape. Build trust among client leadership in the agency’s digital abilities.

  • Build inspirational and innovative campaign strategies: Collaborate with brand planning, media, and the analytics & insights teams to develop campaign strategies that solve client problems and set the stage for innovative creative ideas.

  • Cultural intelligence: Map cultural and market trends, and research and analyze marketplace and media data. Stay at the forefront of the communications landscape and have a point of view on what will matter next; oversee the development of point-of-view memos by senior strategists and digital strategists.

  • Develop context: Use a variety of third-party research tools, collaborate with our brand planning team on custom research, and source new methods to uncover insights in service of unlocking new ways to frame a project or develop insightful and inspiring briefs.

  • Collaborate and make great work: Partner closely with creatives (of all kinds) to bring groundbreaking work to life. Collaborate with producers to ensure that production needs are met efficiently, delivering world-class creative to any channel.

  • Contribute to training and thought leadership: Propose ideas and seek out ways to push the agency’s thinking forward. Write inspiring trend pieces. Build and give presentations that point us toward innovative communications ideas.

  • Leadership: Directly manage the professional and personal growth of a digital strategist (one or two direct reports).

What You Have in Your Background




  • Seven or more years of experience – some agency experience required

  • Proven creative collaborator – have developed creative work alongside a team and helped launch exceptional creative ideas

  • Experience developing multi-touchpoint, holistic campaign and communications strategies – working at the ecosystem level

  • Expert analysis skills, with deep data fluency
