About the Role:
Our growing Engineering team is looking to add two Senior Backend Engineers for in person roles at our Birmingham, AL HQ! Member experience is a top priority for Landing, and it all begins with how members interact with our technology product. You’ll help push forward new features and improve the experience for both Landing members and internal teams.
This role will contribute to our core product platforms, building APIs and systems to create delightful experiences for our members and our team. In your first week you will push code to production, and in your first three months you will own one large feature from start to finish.

You’ll join a team of talented individuals working to improve the way people live and will be able to make all kinds of things happen without limits. The platform team is organized into small, focused pods, so you will have a massive opportunity for autonomy and ownership.
What You’ll Do:
- Work directly with product teams and business owners to design and develop delightful and powerful experiences for our users
- Implement new features and refactor existing features, while keeping in mind performance and quality
- Collaborate with a thoughtful, motivated team of engineers to understand tradeoffs of different solutions
- Take ownership of core features, from inception to deployment and maintenance
- Fix bugs, write tests, and diagnose performance issues
What You Need:
- Strong experience with an Object Oriented Programming language
- Experience with the MVC pattern
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly
- Strong communication skills, especially written communication
- Experience with managing complexity in a growing codebase
- Strong affinity for clean code and simple solutions
- Experience writing unit tests and testable code
Nice to Have:
- Ruby on Rails experience
- Experience with rapidly scaling software
- Experience building client agnostic APIs
- Experience building for performance
- Experience in a cloud environment
