- The Planner/Scheduler prepares and updates bar chart or critical path method (CPM) schedules.
- Our schedulers develop milestone schedules at the pre-construction stage, permitting schedule based on milestone schedule, and develop duration estimates of specific construction activities based on construction approaches and appropriate production rates.
- The Planner scheduler engaged with the client project management team and the contractors / subcontractors & vendors to plan the project and reflect the plan in the schedule.
- This position is based out of Minneapolis, MN, and likely involves 20-30% travel the project site (which primarily are in the Midwest/South East, though can vary.
- Some planner/scheduler roles are 100% site based

- How will you contribute to the team?
- Supports senior scheduling staff, the project team and stakeholders with time management and control.
- Develops and updates summary level as well as detailed schedules.
- Develops lists of design, procurement, construction and post construction activities based on review of design documents, examination of site conditions and discussions with Owners, design consultants and contractors.
- Identifies major milestones, critical approvals and long lead procurement items.
- Determines reasonable schedule logic and constraints based on discussion with task owners and/or teams.
- Develops realistic activity durations based on production rates and available manpower based on discussion with task owners and/or teams.
- Assigns resources (cost, labor or material) to activities and develops cash flow reports and resource histograms.
- Evaluates critical and near critical path activity sequences.
- Assesses actual progress based on site inspections.
- Identifies schedule changes and trends.
- Develops earned value reports.
- Suggests corrective actions and/or develop recovery plans when delays are anticipated or occur.
- Review architect and contractor prepared schedules.
- Prepares post construction as-built schedules and lessons learned reports.
- Performs such other duties as the Supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.
- Complexity - Work involves conventional practice but may include a variety of complex features.
- Decision-making - Most assignments are performed solitarily.
- Makes decisions on technical problems and methods.
- Receives approval on proposed plans for projects and general direction as to results expected or on unusual problems.
- Work direction given to others - Supervises, gives work direction to, and/or reviews the work of junior technical staff and/or others who assist in specific assignments.
- What will you contribute?
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management.
- Minimum 3-year related experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software with Excel, Word and Power Point.
- Independently develop new project schedules based on drawings.
- Bi-lingual Korean not required, but beneficial.
- Knowledge of permitting procedure in government.
- Experience in construction scheduler and project manager preferred.
