Northrop Grumman is seeking a Sr Principal Chief Engineer/ Staff Chief Engineer based out of Salt Lake City, UT .

Roles And Responsibilities

This position will report to the SLC Site Engineering Director. It will include 3 main work areas: 1) SLC Engineering lead for Advanced Manufacturing Technology, 2) SLC Engineering Lead for Continuous Improvement, and 3) Leading Special Projects which may include Design of Manufacturing Systems, Leading Proposals, Transitioning New Products to Production, and many other high-level assignments.

Sr Principal Chief Engineer Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's 9 years of experience; Master's 7 years of experience; PhD 4 years of experience
  • Experience in Advanced Manufacturing Technology and Systems.
  • Experience in Lean Technology and other Continuous Improvement Tools.
  • Experience in Leading high-performance teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience in Advanced Manufacturing Technology and Systems. This would include leading teams and implementing advanced manufacturing technology into manufacturing line/systems showing significant return on investment. This would also include significant training/certifications in those technologies.
  • Extensive experience in leading Continuous Improvement teams as well as conducting training in CI tools and techniques. Proven experience that resulted in significant ROI is preferred. This would include significant training and certifications in those tools. A 6 sigma blackbelt is desired and a Master 6 sigma blackbelt is preferred.
  • Extensive experience in Transitioning Products from Development to production and leading high-performance teams. Experience in establishing Statement of Works, System Requirements as related to Manufacturing Systems is preferred
Staff Chief Engineer Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's 14 years of experience; Master's 12 years of experience; PhD 9 years of experience
  • Experience in Advanced Manufacturing Technology and Systems.
  • Experience in Lean Technology and other Continuous Improvement Tools.
  • Experience in Leading high-performance teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience in Advanced Manufacturing Technology and Systems. This would include leading teams and implementing advanced manufacturing technology into manufacturing line/systems showing significant return on investment. This would also include significant training/certifications in those technologies.
  • Extensive experience in leading Continuous Improvement teams as well as conducting training in CI tools and techniques. Proven experience that resulted in significant ROI is preferred. Salary Range: $108,600 USD - $163,000 USD

Salary Range 2: $134,700 USD - $202,100 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
