Software Developer

HOK is seeking a Software Developer to join our Advanced Technology Team. Primary responsibilities include coding, testing, and analyzing software programs and applications. The successful candidate will be working remotely for the time being but will be expected to return to the office once a date has been decided upon.

This position can be in any US city in which we have an HOK office located (please indicate which office(s) you are interested in when applying).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop web applications, web services, and backend processes to primarily support Corporate business units—Finance, HR, Marketing, and IT Operations—as well as aid future integration efforts


• Develop and maintain database schema/objects such as stored procedures, tables, views, indexes, and functions – Primarily using MS SQL 2012 and newer


• Troubleshoot and fix issues with various existing software applications and processes


• Serve as a reviewer of software architectures to ensure applications are efficient, scalable, and secure


• Help establish and maintain software standards


• Liaises with network administrators, systems analysts, and design technology partners to assist in resolving problems with software products or company software systems


• Conducts research on emerging application development software products, languages, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts


• Overtime may be required

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• 10 years designing and developing applications using the .NET Framework and .NET Core


• Strong knowledge of relational databases, preferably SQL Server and query performance optimizations


• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and familiarity with various design and architectural patterns


• Experience in full life cycle web development: analysis, design, development, debug, implementation, and support using Microsoft technologies required


• SaaS integration configurations and deployment practices


• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical staff


• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills


• Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to resolve defects


• Bachelor’s degree required

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

• NET 4.x and Core Frameworks


• C#, WCF, ASP.NET (MVC and or MVVM pattern)


• SQL Server (including integration services and reporting services)


• IIS administration and configuration


• JavaScript, XML, JSON


• Web Services (REST, SOAP, OData, WCF)


• Entity Framework and LINQ queries


• SharePoint

DESIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:

• Client and Server-side Frameworks: Razor/Blazor/JQuery/Angular


• Elasticsearch /Lucene


• MS GRAPH API


• Office365 Automation


• Azure DevOps


• Microsoft Certified Professional preferred
