About the role: 

The Principal Financial Analyst is a critical member of the Cardiac Rhythm Management & Diagnostics Services (CRMDx) Finance team and will be responsible for supporting the R&D finance and program management office (PMO) efforts to assist in managing the systems and information that ensures our R&D projects meet business objectives.  



 



The ideal candidate will have strong analytical, communication, planning and process skills. This position requires an outgoing candidate that can build strong relationships with business partners to optimize financial planning, reporting and analysis. Additional responsibilities include facilitating month-end close activities, including journal entry preparation, and support of Value Improvement Program (VIP) initiatives.  This position reports to the Director of Finance, Cardiac Rhythm Management & Diagnostics.



 



This position will offer the successful candidate an opportunity to provide key information to stakeholders for decisions across the CRMDx R&D portfolio.  The R&D Analyst owns the systems and processes for contracting PDPs and is responsible for reporting key financial, project performance, and resource metrics across the RM project portfolio



 



Your responsibilities include: 




  • Work closely with the R&D team to insure tracking of project performance against business/contract expectations

  • Partner closely with R&D on portfolio processes – Strat, AOP, forecasting

  • Act as liaison between product development project teams and Finance to assist in budget and resource planning throughout the year

  • Report performance to project contracts through monthly reports

  • Subject matter expert for PPMS and Kronos.  Train project managers to independently manage their projects with applicable systems and internal processes.

  • Monthly/Quarterly reporting of results and metrics, and continued refinement and improvement of metrics for tracking of project/portfolio performance 

  • Identifies opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the systems and internal processes 

  • Keeps the organization's vision and values at the forefront of decision making and action



 



Required Qualifications:




  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably Finance or Accounting 

  • 7+ years professional work experience

  • Experience using budgeting and resource allocation systems and databases

  • Demonstrated data analysis/reporting, problem-solving skills, and ability to tell a story with data from multiple sources

  • Strong financial analysis, communication, organizational and prioritization skills

  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy

  • Must be a quick learner and able to assertively engage with internal and external customers

  • Ability to multi-task and set priorities/execute in a high-paced organization

  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment, adhere to tight deadlines

  • Holds self-accountable to a performance metric culture building performance excellence

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication, and presentation skills

  • Work cross functionally and provide stakeholders with relevant communications and influence to drive change

  • Possess a strong work ethic with a commitment to continuous improvement and drive to exceed expectations

  • Team orientated

  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint, Financial tools (Hyperion (Oracle), SAP) a plus



 



Preferred Qualifications




  • 3+ years of experience in the Medical Device or other project focused environment

  • Demonstrated experience in portfolio, resource, and budget management

  • Database experience and the ability to modify existing database code is a strong plus
