SUMMARY OF DUTIES:


The Senior Project Manager - Scheduler will be a lead scheduler for an assigned workstream within the new trainset Implementation Program. Individuals in this role will develop and drive detailed project schedules used to align priorities, mitigate conflicts, predict outcomes and measure project performance. Lead Project Controls Specialists/Project Schedulers work under moderate supervision of a senior level Controls Practitioner or PMO Director and may matrix into a project or program team.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  • Collect project performance data and update project schedules in accordance with the ICT Program Standards.
  • Work with Project Managers and team to develop project schedules, maintain strict schedule baseline version controls utilizing schedule logs.
  • Integrate cost and schedule data as well as information for vendors and external entities to facilitate schedule and budget performance reporting and forecasting.
  • Assist in developing reporting mechanisms, dashboards and presentations about project performance indicators.
  • Assist Project Manager with maintenance and baseline reviews of project schedules in accordance with ICT Program requirements.
  • Assist Project or Program Manager in evaluation and assessment of identified project risks to enable project team with applicable data for development of risk mitigation plans and contingencies.
  • Supports the intake process of projects through the governance process by developing and maintaining automated project evaluation tools and workflows.
  • Supports the governance and project status review meetings.
  • Manages Controls data via EPPM, SharePoint or any other approved ICT Program systems and tools.
  • Adheres to Amtrak Enterprise Project Management methodology and Amtrak Project Scheduling Standards and Protocols.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Demonstrated project controls, scheduling skills (schedule development, management and reporting) & financial skills (budget management, financial reporting).
  • Experienced SharePoint, MS Office, MS Teams, Advanced Primavera P6 user.
  • Ability to drive efficiencies via strong project scheduling discipline.
  • Strong focus on collaboration, team building, and customer service.
  • Effectiveness working diplomatically across teams with varying objectives.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills across all levels.
  • Ability to organize and present project portfolio reports, proposals, and related portfolio information.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with Project Managers and SME s to drive scheduling and estimating excellence at the project level.
  • Familiarity with DCMA, GAO, NDIA and AACE scheduling practices and protocols.
  • Bachelor s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience (6yr) relevant to Intermediate to Senior level project scheduling.
  • Must have work authorization in the United States.



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Knowledge of contracts and contract administration including its assessment and implementation at each phase of the project.
  • PMI-SP, PSP, EVM or PMP certification or ability to gain certification within 12 months of hire.
  • Good understanding of IT processes, Internal Business systems, safety systems and processes: OR
  • Heavy Equipment manufacturing and maintenance systems or mechanical engineering projects.



COMMUNICATIONS AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:


Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.



The salary range is $102,080-$132,300. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, internal equity, etc. Depending on an employee s assigned worksite or location, Amtrak may consider a geo-pay differential to be applied to the employee s base salary. Amtrak may offer additional incentive and pay programs to recognize and reward our employees, including a short-term incentive bonus based upon factors such as individual and company performance that is commensurate with the level of the position and/or long-term incentive plan compensation.
