This position will be responsible for implementing risk controls end-to-end for payments rails for a transactional banking product, including platform requirements, vendor selection, feature generation and strategy management.

The successful applicant will need to have both a deep expertise in banking payments fraud as well as be a proven thought leader.

The Credit and Fraud Risk Strategy Function

The CFR leads the first line of defense business for credit and fraud risk, including ownership of the strategy across all banking products and channels.

It focuses on four areas:

  1. Working with product and engineering stakeholders to optimize risk capabilities through continuous transformation
  2. Development of strong relationships with stakeholders across operations, capabilities, and product among others to turn insights into action
  3. Develop and manage analytics to identify new fraud trends and insights
  4. Design and implementation of rules and strategies in the risk platforms
Role Responsibilities:
  • End-to-end risk controls for banking payments rails
  • Support of an end-to-end fraud decisioning strategy that optimizes fraud detection and client experience by driving functional requirements and creating an end-to-end view of an optimized fraud and client experience strategy
  • Communicate effectively across teams and gain credibility by understanding end to end impacts of the fraud strategies that are implemented
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues across the firm including business, technology, product management, operations management, legal, compliance, risk, and audit to drive engagement with the fraud prevention program
  • Act as a bank risk subject matter expert and share best practices across the firm
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Masters degree or equivalent work experience in risk management, especially deposit & operational risk (Masters in Science, engineering/tech, math/stats or MBA degree a plus)
  • 1-2 years of banking and/or payments experience, across the fraud life cycle, preferably within a regulated banking institution
  • Proven knowledge and experience with banking payments risk including but not limited to ACH, wires, peer-to-peer (P2P)/real-time payments
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to manage professional relationships
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency working with data

Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually bonus benefits
