As an Environment Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.


  • Applying scientific & engineering principles and behavioral based systems to drive environmental risk reduction efforts and compliance activities
  • Interpreting, implementing, and maintaining regulatory compliance programs to assure completion of records and reporting for applicable Federal, State and Local environmental permits, regulations, and programs
  • Investigating workplace incidents and completing root cause analyses to determine appropriate corrective actions and conducting assessments of high hazard processes to reduce risk
  • Identify opportunities to improve environmental performance and assist in developing strategies for future improvements
  • Establishing and cultivating a network of intra-divisional support to facilitate completion of environmental assignments


Your Skills And Expertise


To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:


  • Bachelor s degree or higher in an engineering or science discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
  • Three (3) years of experience with environmental science, policy and regulations in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Minimum of one (1) year EHS experience in a manufacturing/production environment (private, public, government or military)


Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:


  • Bachelor s degree or higher in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited institution
  • Experience working in a chemical manufacturing environment
  • Experience or ability to develop understanding of 3M standards and requirements
  • Experience in environmental program administration, permit compliance and/or reporting
  • CHMM or similarly recognized environmental professional certification


Travel: May include up to 10% domestic
