What You'll Do
The Operations Finance Director – Planning & Optimization is responsible for supporting the VP of Finance Planning & Analysis for Global Supply Chain. In this role the candidate will lead the development and deployment of planning and optimization strategies across the enterprise. This business partnership role offers significant exposure across the organization and to the senior leadership team. The candidate must have the ability to educate and support, this role is not a data supply role, but a true working partnership role to drive business decisions. You'll get to:
  • Coordinate and consolidate Annual Budget, Quarterly Forecasts and the Annual Strategic Plan
  • Manage and complete reporting requirements in a timely manner including variance analysis to Budget, Forecast and Prior Year, Operational KPIs, and supplemental data reporting
  • Partner with Operations and Finance to drive transparency of results and outlook throughout the organization
  • Understand operational activities such timing of physical inventories across the supply chain, impacts to sales, labor and other operational expenses, inventory and productivity projects
  • Partner with the organization to drive cost reduction and working capital initiatives, initiate such discussions with foresight of business conditions
  • Identify and develop tools to manage the business, provide visibility into key metrics and drive operating performance

  • Very strong operations finance experience in a dynamic, large company environment (manufacturing environment with multiple locations and distribution centers)
  • Strong financial, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment and build relationships with a variety of functions
  • Effective communication & presentation skills, experience presenting to senior leadership
  • Demonstrated success in process improvement initiatives, including problem identification & resolution
  • Ability to prioritize and independently manage multiple concurrent tasks in a dynamic and fast paced setting
  • High level of energy and professionalism and strong attention to detail
  • Act with the highest level of integrity and can clearly demonstrate and align to SBD's core values
Preferred Specifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Accounting or Finance; MBA preferred
  • 10+ plus years of prior related experience
  • Working knowledge of ERP and Financial reporting systems such as JD Edwards, Hyperion, Essbase
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills particularly in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Prior experience with reporting from a large ERP system
