The candidate is a self-motivated individual who can collaborate with a team and across the organization. The candidate takes responsibility of the software artifacts produced adhering to U.S. Bank standards to ensure minimal impact to the customer experience. The candidate will be adept with the agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles.



Responsibilities:



This role will be responsible for defining architecture solutions that meet or exceed security guidelines while enabling rapid software development. The Lead Security Engineer will work closely with the infrastructure and security operations teams to enhance security initiatives on-premises and in the cloud. You will be building out the Security Center of Excellence!

What you Will do:



As a Lead Engineer with security and software development background who will focus on supporting our platform teams (Tools, Cloud, Data, and Operations) with a strong security focus. You will own design and implement specific joint efforts with our security organization and one or more platform teams to support the bank's overall modernization objectives, while building out the Security Center of Excellence.



Essential Responsibilities:




  • Responsible for helping to build out the Security Center of Excellence


  • Takes ownership of all thing’s security in guiding, coaching and mentoring development teams


  • Considers scalability, reliability and performance of systems/contexts affected when defining technical designs, with Security at the forefront


  • Mentors Development teams in creating sound design and coding decisions, keeping customer and partner experience in the forefront


  • Takes feedback from code reviews and applies changes to meet security standards. Conducts code reviews to provide guidance on security engineering best practices and compliance


  • Accountable for ensuring all aspects of product development follow compliance and security best practices


  • Exhibits relentless focus in software security engineering standards embedded into development standards


  • Embraces emerging technology opportunities and contributes to the best practices in support of the bank's technology transformation


  • Contributes to a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement


  • Reviews tasks critically and ensures they are appropriately prioritized and sized for incremental delivery


  • Anticipates and communicates blockers and delays before they require escalation




Basic Qualifications:




  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience


  • 6+ years of relevant experience




Required Skills/Experience:




  • Has hands-on Security Engineer with a coding background


  • Experience with large, distributed, microservice based ecosystems


  • Experience with high-volume, low-latency event management


  • CISSP , CISA or other Security Certifications


  • Experience in enterprise-scale logging, test data management and security


  • Develop teams to envision and code with security in mind


  • Possesses expertise in performance, scalability, enterprise system architecture, and engineering best practices in an agile environment


  • Several years of experience with AWS, AZURE or GCP cloud offerings


  • Experience on security teams supporting large organizations


  • Knowledge of best practices for protecting sensitive data in cloud environments


  • Knowledge of financial regulations and security control requirements


  • Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills; proven collaboration and influencing skills


  • Proficient understanding of algorithms, data structures, architectural design patterns and best practices


  • Excellent communication, presentation, leadership, problem-solving and analytical skills


  • Proven collaboration and influencing skills




Preferred Skills/Experience:




  • Has broad knowledge in security as a whole and can mentor


  • Strong understanding to Security practices and standards


  • Adept with agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles


  • Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle and a passion to improve the developer experience

Salary range reflected is an estimate of base pay and is for the primary location. Base pay range may vary if an offer is made for work in a different location. Pay Range: $117,555.00 - $138,300.00 - $152,130.00
