What you’ll be doing...

The facilities engineer is an individual contributor performing complex responsibilities based on established guidelines, policies and technical standards. This role is primarily responsible for performing maintenance and operations activities to ensure 100% uptime of a world-class data center environment.

·  Directly performing, supervising, supporting the operation, maintenance and repairs of switchgear, UPS/battery systems, emergency generators, chilled water mechanical plants and auxiliaries.
·  Performing other highly technical systems in support of the electrical and mechanical infrastructure within the data center facility.
·  Facilitating and/or managing expense or capital projects related to the maintenance or improvement of the data center.
·  Providing functional technical assistance and training to other facilities maintenance personnel and contract labour.
·  Willingness to provide 24/7/365 technical support of the data center by participating as a team member in shift and on-call rotating schedules.



What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

·  Bachelor’s degree or one or more years of work experience.
·  Willingness to work various shifts and on-call rotating schedules.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

·  Knowledge of operations and maintenance of chilled water cooling, electrical distribution, emergency power generation, large-scale UPS, fire detection/suppression systems, plumbing maintenance, and general building structures and infrastructure.
·  Knowledge of mechanical and electrical test equipment and their safe use measuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
·  Understanding of all engineering drawings, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing.
·  Experience in UPS systems, diesel engine / generators, power distribution and monitoring, and fire detection / suppression systems.
·  Good analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.
·  Good interpersonal and oral / written communications skills.
·  Knowledge of the budgetary processes.
·  General computer skills – WORD, Excel, AutoCAD,Access, Powerpoint.
·  Good project management skills.
·  Experience in installing, maintaining, and programming building management systems - Struxureware Building Operations in particular.
·  Experience in critical Data Center facilities operations.
