Director Enterprise Data Warehouse Engineering

Mission:

To lead the enterprise data warehouse engineering team towards our vision of developing scalable solutions that enable us to use data to improve the competitive position and profitability of our business. You will partner closely with stakeholders throughout the enterprise to understand their business objectives, how data can be used to help them deliver results, measure success, inform decisions and automate processes.

Professional Experience/Background to be successful in this role:

• At least 6 years of experience working with stakeholders to understand enterprise level business outcomes, how data can be used to deliver results, measure success and inform decisions.


• At least 4 years of experience managing and leading a high performing team of data warehouse or analytics engineers.


• At least 4 years of managing data related vendor contracts and relationships.

Competencies (Attributes needed to be successful in this role):

• Previous work with modern data stack (Fivetran, Redshift, Snowflake, dbt, Airflow)


• At least 4 years of experience working with SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, etc.) and a programming language (Python, Go, or Javascript) in a complex data environment


• Experience with data catalog tools


• Knowledge of data privacy regulations like GDPR, CCPA, PCI etc


• Previous experience with SOX compliance


• Previous M&A experience

Expected Outcomes in 3, 6, or 12 months:

• 3 months - Understand the overall business, data landscape (producers and consumers), objectives, key outcomes and metrics.


• 6 months - Actively lead the team to collect requirements, build models, optimize existing processes, improve the tech stack, and the codebase. Understand the security and compliance requirements and execute them. Proactively work with your team and adjacent teams to develop the technology and follow best practices.


• 12 months - Deliver the enterprise data warehouse. Deliver the initial version of the data catalog.
