The Role

In this role, you will bring your geotechnical expertise to help new and
existing Seequent software users with overcoming their challenges. The role attends to new customers trying out the software at the
pre-purchase stage through to experienced users needing technical support,
training, or project assistance.  We want
to ensure that our customers feel important and are well supported. 

By being an investigator and a problem
solver, this role is responsible for providing both sales support and technical
expertise through integrated solutions awareness, analysis and response
times.  This role will still be part of
the global Technical Services team, which is responsible for ensuring that we
understand our global client’s needs and that we cover a wide spread of time
zones. Travel to deliver of pre-sales support and training might make up 30% of
your time per month. Being hands-on, task orientated, and customer focused, this role is
responsible for providing well rounded technical assistance backed up by great
product knowledge, quick response times, analysis, problem solving, and
solution finding.  Business acumen and
the ability to deliver further growth is a core aspect within this role.
Significant travel is to be expected to ensure we retain a strong market
orientation.

This role is a key part of growing our Geotechnical solutions and
an opportunity to be part of an enthusiastic and dynamic team. This position can be based out of Vancouver, Toronto or Denver. 


In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Coordinate and complete high quality software demonstrations, training, and technical workflow guidance using training materials and tailoring sessions to meet the needs of the clients involved
  • Provide dynamic, real-world examples of the relevant software features to clients, maximizing learning objectives and increasing their knowledge base
  • Communicate client feedback, progress, and future opportunities to the Business team post-training in the form of reports
  • Provide internal technical training on new releases/new products or enhancements
  • Assist with the creation of technical notes and the development of training material for global clients
  • Provide technical support through Support channels
  • Provide sales assistance to Account Executives in the form of software demonstrations, client visits and relationship building
  • Be proactive in helping to manage client relationships, understanding and communicating the full business technical relationship to ensure client satisfaction with Seequent
  • Actively monitor customer satisfaction levels and consistently work to improve outcomes and perceptions

In order to be successful in this role, you should have:

  • University Degree in Geoscience or Geotechnical Engineering (BSc or MSc)
  • A minimum of 3 years’ industry experience geotechnical investigations, slope stability, geological modeling, and/or conceptual site models
  • Working experience with Seequent solutions (GeoStudio or PLAXIS)
  • Operational experience in civil/groundwater engineering projects
  • Fluency in English is a requirement, Spanish is a strong asset
  • Ability to travel to Canada, USA and Mexico
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build enriching working relationships
  • Proven team player with a self-starter attitude and ability to work well independently, at times remotely, and self-manage workload effectively
  • Balanced and informed approach to problem solving
  • Tenacity, persistence and focus with a great appreciation for detail
  • Innovative, open, and able to work in a fast paced and constantly changing environment
  • Experience with collaboration tools such as SharePoint, Salesforce and wikis
